Bonus Code

How Cricplay bonus codes actually work.

What is credited at signup, what the wagering requirement is, what the time limit is, what counts toward clearing, and what does not. Editorial guidance, not marketing copy.

Section One

The mechanics: what is credited and when.

Most Indian rummy platforms run a welcome bonus credited to the player’s wallet after the first deposit. The bonus is typically a percentage match of the first deposit (commonly 100% up to a cap, or a flat amount up to a cap). The bonus credits after the deposit has cleared and KYC has been approved.

The two common types

A deposit match bonus credits wallet cash equal to a percentage of the first deposit. A 100% match up to 1000 rupees means a 1000-rupee deposit becomes a 2000-rupee wallet. A flat credit bonus credits a fixed amount regardless of the deposit size; a 500-rupee flat credit on any first deposit of 500 rupees or more.

When the bonus credits

The bonus credits inside 24 hours of the first deposit clearing, on working days. Weekend deposits may take longer because the KYC team is smaller. The credit appears in the wallet section of the app, labelled clearly as bonus credit rather than deposited cash.

When the bonus expires

Most platforms set a bonus validity window of 30 days from credit. If the wagering requirement is not cleared inside the window, the unplayed bonus is forfeited. The window is not negotiable. Read the bonus terms carefully before you make the first deposit.

Section Two

Clearing the wagering requirement.

The bonus becomes withdrawable only after the wagering requirement has been cleared. The wagering requirement is a multiplier applied to the bonus amount. A 3x wagering requirement on a 500-rupee bonus means you must wager 1500 rupees on cash tables before the bonus (and any winnings from it) becomes withdrawable.

What counts toward clearing

Cash-table play counts toward clearing. Practice-table play does not. Tournament entry fees count toward clearing only if the tournament is a cash tournament (with a real-rupee entry fee and a real-rupee prize pool). The exact list is published in the bonus terms; read it before you play.

How the wagering requirement is measured

Most platforms measure the wagering requirement by the sum of the entry fees you have paid, not by the sum of the points you have scored. A 10-rupee Points table entry clears 10 rupees of wagering requirement, regardless of whether you won or lost the hand.

Can you withdraw before clearing?

No. You can withdraw your deposited cash at any time, but the bonus credit and any winnings from bonus-credit play remain in the wallet until the wagering requirement is cleared. If you withdraw your deposit before clearing, the bonus is typically forfeited on most platforms.

Section Three

The responsible-player stack for bonuses.

The honest reading of a bonus is: it is a small extra on a deposit you would have made anyway. The dishonest reading is: it is free money. The dishonest reading is the one the platforms hope you adopt, because the dishonest reading is the one that leads to over-depositing and over-playing to chase the bonus clearing.

Set a deposit cap before the bonus

Set a weekly deposit cap on the platform’s responsible-play page before you make your first deposit. The cap limits how much the bonus can tempt you to over-deposit. The cap is your protection against the dishonest reading.

Do not chase the clearing

If the wagering requirement is not on track to be cleared inside the validity window, the responsible decision is to forfeit the bonus and stop. The bonus is worth a small amount; the cumulative losses of chasing it are worth more.

Section Four

Common bonus questions.

These are the questions the editorial desk hears most often. The answers are editorial; check the platform’s bonus terms for the specifics.

I missed entering the bonus code at registration. Can I still get the bonus?

No. The bonus code is locked to the registration flow. A code entered after registration is not honoured. The platform does not retroactively apply a missed bonus code. Read the bonus terms carefully before you complete registration.

What counts toward clearing the wagering requirement?

Cash-table play counts toward clearing. Practice-table play does not. Tournament entry fees count toward clearing only for cash tournaments. The exact list is published in the bonus terms. Read it before you play.

Can I claim multiple bonuses?

No. Each platform offers one welcome bonus per player. A second welcome bonus is not available, even on a second deposit. Referral bonuses are separate from the welcome bonus and can be claimed multiple times (up to the platform’s referral cap).

What happens if I withdraw my deposit before clearing the bonus?

The bonus is typically forfeited. Most platforms explicitly disallow withdrawing the deposit before the bonus is cleared. Read the bonus terms carefully. The honest platforms explain this rule clearly; the dishonest platforms bury it in the fine print.

The bonus validity window is almost over. Should I play more to clear it?

No. If the wagering requirement is not on track to be cleared inside the validity window, the responsible decision is to forfeit the bonus and stop. The bonus is worth a small amount; the cumulative losses of chasing it are worth more.

Section Five

Tax implications of bonus winnings.

Winnings from online rummy are subject to Indian income tax. The platform deducts TDS (tax deducted at source) on net winnings above a threshold, currently INR 10,000 in a single hand. The TDS rate is 30% plus applicable surcharge and cess. The platform issues a Form 16A or equivalent TDS certificate for the deducted amount.

How to declare bonus winnings

Bonus winnings count as part of your total winnings from the platform. Declare the total winnings under “Income from Other Sources” in your ITR. The TDS certificate from the platform can be used as proof of tax already paid; claim it as a credit against your total tax liability.

Keep the records

Keep the platform’s deposit, withdrawal and winnings records for at least 8 years from the date of the last transaction. The income-tax department can request records going back 8 years. The records are downloadable from the platform’s wallet section as a CSV or PDF statement.

Losses are not deductible

Indian tax law does not currently allow rummy losses to be deducted against winnings for income-tax purposes. The losses are real, but they are not tax-deductible. The editorial desk notes this without editorialising: it is the law as written.

Section Six

Stacking the welcome bonus with the referral bonus.

Most platforms allow a new player to claim both the welcome bonus (entered at registration) and the referral bonus (entered at first deposit from a friend’s referral link). The two bonuses stack into a single wallet-credit balance; the wagering requirement is calculated on the combined amount.

The order matters

Enter the referral code at first deposit, not at registration. Most platforms require the referral code at the deposit step; entering it at registration is not honoured. The welcome bonus is automatic on the first deposit; the referral bonus requires the code.

The combined wagering requirement

If the welcome bonus is 500 rupees with a 3x wagering requirement and the referral bonus is 200 rupees with a 3x wagering requirement, the combined balance is 700 rupees and the combined wagering requirement is 2,100 rupees. Play at the lowest available cash table to clear the combined requirement gradually.

The discipline still applies

Stacking the bonuses does not change the responsible-player stack. Set a deposit cap. Take a session break. Do not chase the clearing. The bonuses are a small extra on a deposit you would have made anyway; the deposit itself should not exceed your session budget.

Bonus literacy

How to read a bonus offer the way the operator wrote it

A bonus offer is the most heavily marketed feature on a rummy platform, and the least carefully read. The reader who clicks the offer, deposits the qualifying amount, and starts playing has not yet seen the wagering requirement, the expiry window, the eligible games, or the contribution percentages. The offer is the first sentence of the contract; the terms page is the second.

The two common bonus types are the deposit match and the free-play credit. The deposit match credits the reader's bonus balance with a percentage of the deposit; the free-play credit credits a fixed amount regardless of deposit size. The two types clear differently, expire differently, and contribute differently to the wagering requirement. The page describes both.

The wagering requirement is the number that determines whether the bonus is actually valuable. A one-time match with a 1x wagering requirement is functionally a cashback. A match with a 10x wagering requirement is functionally a marketing expense the reader has to play through. The desk treats 1x as the floor for a worthwhile bonus; everything above that is a judgement call.

The responsible-player rule for bonuses is the paragraph the desk recommends most strongly. The reader who is about to claim a bonus has already decided to deposit. The deposit cap should be set before the deposit, not after. A reader who sets the cap first and claims the bonus second is a reader who has decided the bonus is worth the cap.
